Central Air Conditioner Installation in Littleton

Summit Heating, A/C, Plumbing & Electrical installs and replaces central air conditioners for homeowners in Littleton, working from our shop at 8091 Shaffer Pkwy, Suite C. It’s for a house adding AC for the first time, or an old system that keeps failing in July. Your technician looks at the house and the existing furnace, shows you the efficiency options side by side, and gives you an estimate you can approve now or later from a link.

HVAC diagnostic: $99.95. Your technician reviews the estimate with you. You can approve it on the spot or later through a link to the estimate. If you already know you want a new system, ask for a replacement estimate when you call.

Lennox Premier Dealer and NATE-Certified Cooling Team

Summit is a Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor and a Lennox Premier Dealer, holds the Lennox Centurion Award, and employs NATE-certified technicians.

How Our AC Installation Process Works

  1. Call (720) 870-1580 or request service online. Hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday 8am to 3pm. After hours: our answering service takes your call and we call back the next business day.
  2. Your technician checks the house, the furnace the new coil will sit on, and where the outdoor unit can go.
  3. You see the minimum-efficiency option next to higher-efficiency ones, with a written estimate. Approve it on the spot or later through the link.
  4. We pull the permit for your address.
  5. We install the outdoor unit, indoor coil and line set, start the system, test it and clean up.
  6. The building department inspects the finished work where the permit calls for it.

2026 SEER2 Minimums and Refrigerants for New AC Systems

Colorado sits in the federal North region, where the minimum for a split central AC is 13.4 SEER2. We quote that minimum next to higher-efficiency systems so you can compare. We don’t promise a fixed savings figure, because savings depend on your house and how you run it. (DOE, checked Nov 2026.)

Most new residential systems use R-454B or R-32, both A2L refrigerants. If your current AC runs on R-410A and the problem is small, it can still be repaired; existing R-410A systems can legally be repaired, and EPA rules affect new equipment. See AC repair in Littleton if you’d like that checked first.

Thinking about cooling and heating from one system? A heat pump does both. See heat pump installation in Littleton. For a single room or an addition with no ducts, see ductless mini-splits.

AC Installation Cost Factors in Littleton

We don’t post AC system prices yet. Your estimate depends on the system you choose and what your house needs, and you see it before any work starts.

What changes the price:
  • System size and efficiency rating.
  • Whether the indoor coil matches your existing furnace.
  • Line set length and where the outdoor unit can sit.
  • Electrical work and the permit at your address.
Financing is available through Service Finance Company, LLC, subject to credit approval. See terms when you apply.

Xcel’s central AC rebates ended for invoices dated after Jan 1, 2024, so we don’t quote one. Programs change without notice. Eligibility is confirmed at quote. Checked Nov 2026.

Littleton eTRAKiT Permits for AC Replacement

Inside city limits, a new or replacement AC needs a permit from the City of Littleton Building Division at 2255 W. Berry Ave, filed through eTRAKiT. The city’s permit list names air-conditioning equipment, and Littleton has adopted the 2024 International Mechanical Code and the 2026 National Electrical Code. (City of Littleton, checked Nov 2026.)

Some homes with a Littleton address are outside city limits. Parts of 80128 around Columbine and Chatfield State Park are unincorporated Jefferson County, which applies the 2024 codes to permits applied for from July 1, 2026 and the 2026 NEC from Aug. 1, 2026. Unincorporated Arapahoe County issues AC replacement permits online as non-review permits and still works from the 2023 NEC. Either way, new outdoor equipment gets the GFCI protection the electrical code requires. (Checked Nov 2026.)

Colorado makes the hired contractor responsible for required permits, so we pull them. Our shop is about 3 miles from Columbine and about 6 miles from the West Mineral Avenue and South Santa Fe Drive area.

Cooling demand here peaks in July, when NOAA’s 1991-2020 normals for Denver International Airport put the average high at 89.9°F. Book the estimate in spring and the install isn’t competing with the July rush.

AC Installation Questions from Littleton Homeowners

We give you a written estimate after looking at your house and existing furnace, not a phone quote. The price depends on the system’s size and efficiency and the work your house needs. You can approve it on the spot or later through a link.

Inside city limits, yes. The City of Littleton lists air-conditioning equipment as permit work, filed through eTRAKiT. Unincorporated Jefferson and Arapahoe county addresses go through their county, and we pull the permit either way.
No. Xcel’s central AC rebates ended for invoices dated after Jan 1, 2024. Heat pumps are treated differently, so ask about them if rebates matter to you.
It depends on your house and how you want to heat it. A heat pump cools in summer and heats in winter. Your technician can price both so you can compare them on one visit.
