AC Tune-Ups for Highlands Ranch Homes

Summit Heating, A/C, Plumbing & Electrical does AC tune-ups for homeowners across Highlands Ranch. A tune-up is a scheduled spring visit where your technician checks the air conditioner before it has to carry the summer, so a worn part shows up on a mild day instead of the first hot one. This page covers the AC only. Your furnace has its own furnace tune-up in the fall.

Ask about tune-up pricing when you call. If your AC isn’t working and you need a repair visit instead, the HVAC diagnostic is $99.95, and your technician reviews the estimate with you before any repair starts.

When to Schedule AC Maintenance on the Front Range

Book in April or May. The Front Range’s average last spring frost is May 15 (CSU Extension), and cooling demand climbs from there. Denver-area normals show about 849 cooling degree days a year and a July average high of 89.9°F (NOAA 1991-2020, Denver International Airport). A spring visit leaves time to fix anything before July.

What Happens During an AC Tune-Up Visit

  1. Call (720) 870-1580 or request service online and pick a spring time.
  2. Your technician checks the outdoor unit, the indoor coil area and the controls, and runs the system.
  3. You hear what was found in plain language, including anything that’s wearing out.
  4. If a repair is needed, your technician reviews the estimate with you. Approve it on the spot, later from the link, or not at all.
  5. We clean the work area before we leave.
Hours: Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 3pm. After hours: our answering service takes your call and we call back the next business day.

Honest AC Maintenance Findings, Including R-410A Systems

A tune-up isn’t a sales call. If your system has a fixable problem, we price the fix. If it has years left, we say so. Existing R-410A systems can legally be repaired, so an older refrigerant alone is not a reason to replace a working AC.

Optional HVAC Maintenance Memberships

Ask about our maintenance memberships. You don’t need a membership to book a tune-up. If you’d like regular visits, our two plans are on the maintenance memberships page.

We don’t offer duct cleaning or ductwork, so an AC tune-up from us won’t include either.

Douglas County Permits if Your AC Needs Replacing

A tune-up doesn’t need a permit. If it turns up an AC that needs replacing, Highlands Ranch is unincorporated Douglas County, and the county’s mechanical permit covers the replacement. We file it online through the county’s e-permits system, under the 2024 International codes the county adopted effective July 1, 2026. (Douglas County, checked Nov 2026.)

Spring tune-ups run across Highlands Ranch, from homes near Cougar Run Park off Dad Clark Drive to the 80129 streets by Plum Valley Park.
