Ductless Mini-Splits for Littleton Rooms Without Ductwork

Summit Heating, A/C, Plumbing & Electrical installs ductless mini-split systems for homeowners in Littleton from our shop at 8091 Shaffer Pkwy, Suite C. A mini-split is a small heat pump: an outdoor unit feeds one or more indoor heads through a thin line set, so a room gets heating and cooling without any ducts. It suits a finished basement, an addition, a garage office, a sunroom, or an older home with no ducts at all. Your technician looks at the rooms, explains how many heads it takes, and gives you an estimate to approve now or later.

We don’t build or extend ductwork, which is often why people call about a mini-split in the first place.

HVAC diagnostic: $99.95. Your technician reviews the estimate with you. You can approve it on the spot or later through a link to the estimate. If you already know you want a mini-split, ask for an installation estimate when you call.

When a Mini-Split Makes More Sense Than a Ducted Heat Pump

A room that's always too hot or cold

One head serves that room without changing the rest of the system.

An addition or finished basement

No ducts to run through finished walls.

A home with no ducts

Several heads on one or more outdoor units can heat and cool the house.

Garage, studio or office

It runs on its own schedule, separate from the main house.

If your whole house already has good ducts and you want one system for heat and cooling, a ducted heat pump is the other route.

How Our Mini-Split Installation Process Works

  1. Call (720) 870-1580 or request service online. Hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday 8am to 3pm. After hours: our answering service takes your call and we call back the next business day.
  2. Your technician measures the rooms, picks spots for the heads and the outdoor unit, and checks the electrical panel.
  3. You get a written estimate. Approve it on the spot, or later through the link.
  4. We pull the permit for your address.
  5. We mount the heads and outdoor unit, run the line set and wiring, start the system, show you the controls, and clean up.

Mini-Split Installation Cost Factors in Littleton

We don’t post mini-split prices yet. Your estimate depends on how many rooms you’re covering and what the install needs, and you see it before any work starts.

What changes the price:
  • Number of indoor heads and the capacity of each.
  • One outdoor unit or more.
  • Line set length and the wall or roof route it takes.
  • Electrical circuit and panel capacity.
Financing is available through Service Finance Company, LLC, subject to credit approval. See terms when you apply.

Xcel rebates may apply. We confirm current amounts with your quote. Programs change without notice. Eligibility is confirmed at quote. Checked Nov 2026. The federal 25C credit doesn’t apply to equipment placed in service after Dec 31, 2025.

Mini-Split Heating Performance in a Littleton Winter

A mini-split is a heat pump, so it’s chosen for winter as much as summer. NOAA’s 1991-2020 normals for Denver International Airport show about 5,863 heating degree days a year and January lows averaging 18.7°F. We size the system for that, and we’ll tell you if a room needs another heat source on the coldest nights. Most new systems use R-454B or R-32 refrigerant.

Littleton eTRAKiT Permits for Mini-Split Installation

Inside city limits, the City of Littleton Building Division issues the permit through eTRAKiT; its list covers air-conditioning equipment and other regulated mechanical work, and new circuits fall under its electrical permit language. Littleton has adopted the 2024 International Mechanical Code and the 2026 National Electrical Code. (City of Littleton, checked Nov 2026.)

Some Littleton addresses are outside city limits: parts of 80128 around Columbine and toward Chatfield State Park, about 3 miles from our shop, are unincorporated Jefferson County, which applies the 2024 codes from July 1, 2026 and the 2026 NEC from Aug. 1, 2026. The outdoor unit gets the GFCI protection the electrical code requires. We pull the permit either way. (Checked Nov 2026.)

Mini-Split Questions from Littleton Homeowners

It depends mostly on how many rooms you’re covering. We give you a written estimate after looking at the rooms, the outdoor unit location and your panel, and you can approve it on the spot or later through a link.
Yes, when it’s sized for the climate. A mini-split is a heat pump, so we size it for heating as well as cooling and tell you if a room needs another heat source on the coldest nights.
No. That’s the point of a mini-split: the indoor heads connect to the outdoor unit through a thin line set. We don’t build or extend ductwork.
Inside city limits, yes: the City of Littleton covers air-conditioning equipment and new electrical circuits, filed through eTRAKiT. Unincorporated county addresses go through Jefferson or Arapahoe County. We pull the permit.
We do. Mini-split repair is handled on our heat pump repair page, with the same $99.95 HVAC diagnostic and the price shown before any work starts.
