Ductless Mini-Split Installation in Highlands Ranch

Summit Heating, A/C, Plumbing & Electrical installs ductless mini-split systems for homeowners across Highlands Ranch. A mini-split is a heat pump with a compact outdoor unit and one or more wall units inside, joined by a small line set instead of ducts. It’s for the bonus room over the garage that’s always hot, a finished basement, an addition, or a home that never had central air. We don’t build ductwork, so for rooms without ducts, this is the job we do.

Call (720) 870-1580 to schedule an estimate. If an existing mini-split has stopped working, the visit starts as an HVAC diagnostic: $99.95. Your technician reviews the estimate with you, and you can approve it on the spot or later through a link.

When a Ductless Mini-Split Is the Right Fit for a Room

A room the central system doesn't reach well

A whole house already served well by ducts

An addition, garage conversion or finished basement

A home where the furnace and AC just need repair

A house with no ducts at all

A space you want to cool once a summer

Wanting heat and cooling in one quiet unit

What's Included in Your Mini-Split Installation

  1. Your technician sizes the system to the room or zones and picks wall unit locations with you.

Hours: Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 3pm. After hours: our answering service takes your call and we call back the next business day.

Mini-Split SEER2 and HSPF2 Ratings and Our Credentials

A mini-split is a heat pump. New split heat pumps in the federal North region, which includes Colorado, must reach 14.3 SEER2 and 7.5 HSPF2. Many ductless models are rated higher, and your estimate shows the rating of each option.

Douglas County Permits for Mini-Split Installation

Highlands Ranch is unincorporated Douglas County, so permits come from the Douglas County Building Division in Castle Rock. Mechanical permits go through the county’s online e-permits system. If a mini-split replaces gas heat entirely, that’s a gas-to-electric conversion, which needs a plan review and is filed in person, by fax or by mail. The county has worked under the 2024 International codes since July 1, 2026, and uses the 2023 NEC until a newer edition takes effect Jan 1, 2027. (Douglas County, checked Nov 2026.)

We install mini-splits across Highlands Ranch, from bonus rooms in BackCountry near Mountain Vista High School to basements in the 80129 area near Plum Valley Park.
